Charlton Oil & Propane Company Heating System Service FAQs

  • Do You Have a Service Department?

    Yes. Our technicians have in-depth knowledge of heating systems and put safety first. 

  • Do You Have Payment Options?

    All service is cash on delivery (COD). Options include payment by cash, card, or check. All check payments require a hold of an equal amount on a credit card. 

  • Are Service Contracts Available?

    Yes, we have two options. Please contact the office for more information. You must be a heating oil customer and have a cleaning performed before the contract is an option.

  • Do You Provide Service to Non-Customers?

    No. We only service customers to whom we deliver heating oil. If you’re a propane delivery customer, we won’t service your heating oil units, either. 

  • Must I Be Home at the Time of Service?

    Yes, someone over the age of 18 needs to be home, unless the property is vacant.

  • Do You Offer 24/7 Service?

    Yes, we have expert technicians on call 24/7, including holidays and weekends.

  • How Long Does It Take for Emergency Service to Arrive?

    As soon as a technician is available, they’ll be there. We cannot provide exact times, but we can have them call you when they’re on the way to your home. 

  • Why Is There One of Your Employees on My Property Near My Propane Tank?

    Each year we conduct an annual inspection to make sure our propane tanks are safe and in good working condition.

  • Why Can’t You Tell Me Who Is Coming to My Property?

    Unless you are getting cleaning, we are unable to know which technician will be available first. All our technicians are professional and experts in their field.

  • Do You Accept Fuel Assistance?

    Yes. First, you must qualify for the program and apply through the proper office. The programs we accept are found on our Customer Resources page.
